History
Who Started the MS Association of King County and Why?
A woman named Martha MacFarlane started the Multiple Sclerosis Association of King County in 1956. She believed that there was a need for an agency that would provide more direct services to enable people with MS in our community to live fuller, healthier, more independent lives. |

Within a year Martha applied for and was accepted to be a part of the United Way of King County. The MS Association of King County has been a direct service, United Way agency ever since.
